Multiboard FAQ

What is the bandwidth or rise/fall time of the amplifier on the sglux Multiboard?
The amplifier on the sglux Multiboard exhibits a rise and fall time of approximately 2.5 milliseconds across all gain settings. This corresponds to an approximate time constant of 1.2 milliseconds, which implies a bandwidth of around 130 Hz (assuming single-pole low-pass behavior). This performance is sufficient for applications involving slowly varying UV signals but not suitable for high-speed signal acquisition.
How is the amplifier powered – is a symmetric supply required?
The amplifier on the sglux Multiboard can be operated in two ways: Symmetric power supply: ±7 V to ±20 V. In this configuration, no additional circuitry is required. The supply ground is identical to the input/output signal ground, enabling stable and noise-resistant measurements. Single supply with virtual ground: +15 V to +24 V. In this case, an additional Zener diode is required, which can either be mounted on the board or externally connected to the terminal block. Caution: The resulting virtual ground serves as the reference point for signal processing but is not identical to the power supply ground. Note: The Zener voltage should be chosen to match approximately half of the supply voltage. The exact circuit is shown in the application diagram in this datasheet.
What is the current consumption of the Multiboard?
The current consumption of the sglux Multiboard depends on the type of power supply used (symmetric or single-ended) and the nature of the connected load. Typical current draw with low load ranges from 4 mA to 20 mA.

Transductores de medida para fotodiodos FAQ

What is the difference between the VOLTCON "legacy" and the VOLTCON "advanced"?
Summary:
The VOLTCON advanced has overall improved properties compared with the VOLCON legacy.
Detailed answer:
The "legacy" model has been in production since 2003. Additionally, the "advanced" model is available since 2025. It has overall improved properties in terms of adjustability, signal/noise ratio, drift etc. For details please refer to the comparison in the datasheet. Customers who have purchased VOLTCONs in the past should continue using the model "legacy" in order to avoild problems with adjustability.
